Haven Holidays Case Study

Haven and British Holidays operates 35 Holiday Parks, which makes them the largest caravan park operator in the UK. Haven, who were voted 'Best UK Tour Operator' and 'Best Travel Company' by the travel trade in 2008, have all of their family holiday parks in lovely locations all around the UK.

To compliment their reputation within the industry, Haven have a commitment to total customer satisfaction and in 2008 Scancapture were contracted to process all of their Parks guest satisfaction survey forms and caravan owners questionnaires. Over 50,000 survey forms were processed by Scancapture, which provided useful data for Haven to produce their own internal reports.

Haven are delighted with Scancaptures services and they have been contracted to undertake this work again for the 2009 surveys.

The Technology; Combining Accuracy and Speed
Scancapture use a combination of high speed document scanners with optical doubles detection to prevent any double feeds and sophisticated intelligent character recognition (ICR) software to automatically "read" the tick boxes, numbers, letters and open ended comments written on the questionnaire. Any questionnable or incorrectly completed papers are manually checked on screen by an operator. As a large part of this project is automated by using technology, the whole process takes around one tenth of the time it would take for a manual operator to key the data into a computer database.
