Norwich University College of the Arts Case StudyScancapture has processed the NUCA Annual Student Feedback Questionnaire for the last successive 5 years. The 20 page questionnaire covers all aspects of University life including Student Welfare, Financial advice (including bursaries, Access to Learning Funds), Disability and Dyslexia advice and support, Independent counselling service (through The Norwich Centre), Accommodation and Welfare advice and support for International students. A comprehensive 160 page report was provided by Scancapture which will help the school to identify where they are doing well and where they can improve. Following the successful implementation and management of the Annual Student Feedback Questionnaire, Scancapture have also been contracted to handle other questionnaires for the University College which goes into more detail regarding undergraduate and post-graduate students. The Technology; Combining Accuracy and Speed Scancapture use a combination of high speed document scanners with optical doubles detection to prevent any double feeds and sophisticated intelligent character recognition (ICR) software to automatically "read" the tick boxes, numbers, letters and open ended comments written on the questionnaire. Any questionable or incorrectly completed papers are manually checked on screen by an operator. As a large part of this project is automated by using technology, the whole process takes around one tenth of the time it would take for a manual operator to key the data into a computer database.
