Scancapture sponsor World Transplant Games sportsman

Medal Winner Dave

In addition to our 2012 sponsorship of GB Paralympic cyclist team member Barry Whittle, Scancapture are proud to announce a new sponsorship deal for Transplant Sport UK sportsman Dave Clarke.

Dave, a teacher from Accrington, received a kidney transplant on Christmas Eve 2001 after spending a year on dialysis. This followed a quadruple heart bypass in 2000 following 6 heart attacks; the first when he collapsed on the pitch playing professional rugby.

Dave has been selected to represent Great Britain at the World Transplant Games to be held in Durban, South Africa 28 July-4 August 2013.  The World Games promote the benefits of organ transplantation and highlights the need for organ donation.

He has previously competed in 4 World Games and was good enough to win 2 BRONZE, 1 SILVER and 1 GOLD medal. He is training hard now and we are hopeful for another medal from the 2013 Games.

As a member of the Great Britain team he has to pay for his own transport, accommodation and kit, and cover the cost of attending the four mandatory team training days at Warwick University. The total cost of his preparation and participation at the Games is £2000 and
any contribution you would be able to offer would be greatly appreciated by donating directly to Dave’s JustGiving page.

As his kit sponsors, Scancapture will see commercial exposure worldwide, including national press, local press and local TV appearances.

More importantly as his friend, we are glad that Dave has the opportunity once again to proudly represent his country which wouldn’t have been possible without the ‘gift of life’ from a stranger.

The website www.wtg2013.com will give you all the information for these prestigious games which are held every two years.
